Messages
Message is RobinIT's team communication area. Use it to chat with people or groups, mention users and resources, share files or folders, share meeting links, and review file history for a conversation.
Start a conversation
- Open Message.
- Select a person or group from the chat list.
- Type your message in the message box.
- Use mentions, such as @users or #resources, when you need to reference someone or something clearly.
- Send the message.
Create a group chat
- Open Message.
- Choose the create group action.
- Enter a clear group name.
- Add the people who should participate.
- Save the group.
Manage a group
Depending on your group role, you may be able to update the group name or image, add members, remove members, leave the group, or delete the group. If you no longer belong to a group, RobinIT may disable the message box for that conversation.
Share files or folders in a message
- Open the conversation.
- Choose the attachment action.
- Select Files to share files or Folders to share a folder.
- You can also drag supported files or folders into the message area.
- Send the message after the item is attached.
Recipients can save shared files or folders from the conversation. Folder messages may also show a preview option before downloading.
Share a meeting link
- Open a conversation.
- Choose the meeting share action.
- Select the meeting platform.
- Paste the meeting URL.
- Add a title if helpful, then share it.
Use the Files tab
The Files tab in a conversation shows files and folders shared in that chat. Use it to download items again, preview folders, or return to the original message.
Troubleshooting messages
- If chats are not updating, check your internet connection and refresh RobinIT.
- If you cannot send a message, confirm you are still a member of the group.
- If a file upload fails, try fewer files at once or use simpler file names.
- If dropping an empty folder is not supported, add files to the folder or upload files directly.
